Five years ago, DTU started focusing on research and publishing the results internationally. In 2015-2016 year, with the steady increase in the number of research staff, DTU published over 130 papers, of which 122 appeared in ISI journals.
DTU holds national and international conferences
Several of DTU’s ISI publications have a high Impact Factor (IF). IF>5 papers include ones in Stem Cell Reports and the European Physical Journal C; IF>3 comprises publications in Composite Structures and the Physical Review. A paper entitled “Nonlinear phonon-assisted cyclotron resonance via two-phonon process in asymmetrical Gaussian potential quantum wells” was released in Super Lattices and Microstructures Magazine, with a very high IF of 20.9. The paper “DNA redox hydrogels: Improving mediated enzymatic bioelectrocatalysis” was published in ACS Catalysis with an IF of 9.3. In 2015-2016 DTU began conducting research in Economics and Society and the Community, with 7 SSCI papers (Social Sciences Citation Index).
DTU researchers are becoming noteworthy once they have published more than 10 ISI papers in their specialties. For example, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hieu has already published 16 papers in the field of nano-carbon, Dr. Hoang Nhat Duc has produced 15 papers on Artificial Intelligence Application and Dr. Dang Ngoc Toan 12 papers on Nanostructure.
Dr. Ho Khac Hieu - Vietnam’s youngest associate professor at DTU
In 2015, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (NOIP) granted a patent to Associate Professor Nguyen Phuong Tung for his research project entitled “Producing nano composite from red waste mud used for oil drilling industry”. DTU has conducted 12 Nafosted projects. In 2015, The National Professorship Council awarded Dr. Ho Khac Hieu Associate Professor status. He is a lecturer and researcher at the DTU Center for Research and Development and, at 31, is the youngest Associate Professor in Vietnam. Dr. Hieu has published more than 20 papers, including 13 in the SSCI.
In 2015, the Ministry of Technology and Science ranked DTU in the top 20 institutions in Vietnam with highest international publications from 2010 to 2014. Data compiled on the Web of Science for 2015, recapitulated by Pham Hiep and Huynh Huu Hien, then showed that DTU was the leading university in Vietnam in international publications. This resulted from the sustained efforts made by DTU researchers over the years, as a result of which DTU achieved the highest in 2015-2016.
